Intel is releasing its another model Core i9-9990 XE Extreme processor with 14 cores and 28 threads that drives at a maximum of 5.0 GHz in turbo mode. Core i9-9990 XE is not commercially available on the general line, only a very small amount will be produced and provided in auction form for some professional use. This new processor will be the highest numbered processor in Intel’s high-end desktop line. This CPU has 14 cores, base clock is 4.0 GHz, turbo clock is 5.0 GHz, TDP is 255 W, DDR 4 memory is supported. Althrough Core i9-9990XE has few cores than current high end model Core i9-9980XE with 18 cores, 36 threads as its given at the top model number.
In this processor cache arrangement is not known at this time but pervious model i9-9900X has 16MB of L3 cache per core giving it 19.25MB of total L3 cache. As intel said that this Core i9-9990XE will be offered only for limited system integrators, not for general rule. There is no information available on pricing, because that hasn’t been determined yet. Pricing will come down to what system integrators are willing to pay during the auctions, which will be held once per quarter.
